Far beyond the Earth, past the silver glow of the Moon and the sleepy hum of the Milky Way, there was a place where only the bravest dreamers traveled - the Andromeda Galaxy. It was said that all angels went there. Not the kind with halos and harps, but the kind with wild hearts and untamed spirits.
Niko, the squirrel, had always believed he belonged there. He was small but full of fire, always reaching for something just beyond his grasp. “One day,” he told himself, “I will make it to Andromeda.”
Remy, the raccoon, had never planned to go anywhere. He floated through space like a piece of forgotten stardust, pressing buttons he wasn’t supposed to press and pulling levers just to see what would happen. He did not believe in plans. He believed in mischief.
One day, as they drifted through the cosmic sea, Niko pointed to a distant light.
“There,” he said. “That’s where I’m going.”
Remy squinted. “Why?”
“Because that’s where the angels go,” Niko replied.
Remy snorted. “What if I don’t want to be an angel?”
Niko shrugged. “Then you can stay here.”
And so Niko built. He gathered stardust, cosmic wind, and the metal bones of an old satellite to make a ship. He worked with quiet determination, weaving his dreams into every piece.
Remy, on the other hand, did no such thing. He spent his time undoing what had already been done. He unscrewed bolts to see if the ship would wobble. He took apart the control panel because the blinking lights annoyed him. He was not a builder. He was a breaker.
And yet, Niko never sent him away.
One day, after Remy had accidentally (or not-so-accidentally) torn off the ship’s stabilizer, he looked at Niko and asked, “Why do you keep fixing what I break?”
Niko smiled. “Because you teach me where the weak spots are.”
Remy blinked. He had never thought of it that way. So, for the first time, he stopped destroying just for fun and started breaking things on purpose - to make them better. If a part was too weak, he would shake it until it snapped, and they would replace it.
And when the ship was finally ready, it was stronger than anything Niko could have built alone.
So they climbed in together, pressed the right buttons (after much trial and error), and launched toward Andromeda.
As they soared through the universe, Remy looked at Niko and smirked.
“So,” he said, “I guess I’m an angel now.”
Niko laughed. “All the best ones are.”
